Salt Fire To Cleanse Your Space

Making a “green” salt fire is a really fun and easy way to beautify and cleanse any space such as a home, office, or storage space.

A salt fire is sometimes called a green fire, but it is not really green. It is a simple practice that anyone can use to  lift up the energy of any space towards a crisper, brighter, cleaner space. I often feel the energy after a green fire is crystaline, angelic, and gentle.

A green fire is created by getting a large soup pot with a lid. You can use stainless steel, enamel, or cast iron and scrub them out after you’re done. The pot will have soot in it. Place 1 cup of sea salt in the pot. Use ordinary cheap sea salt, nothing fancy like himalayan salt or anything like that. There will be soot on your pot when you are done. Place 1/4 cup of the highest percentage rubbing alcohol on top of the salt and light it on fire with a long match, very carefully. Place the pot wherever the energy feels ‘dark’

Every space is different. Your space may require more than one burn. Sometimes I light the fire, and then I use the handles of the pot to move it around the room. You will see that when there is a really dense energy the flames tend to split into many, tiny, fast, flames instead of a large slow rolling flame. It’s not so important to watch the shape of the flames. It’s more important to use your sentient feeling body to discern where your space could use some brightening!

Make sure you never leave a room with a lit fire in it! Keep the flames away from paper, fabric, or any objects that might be harmed from the heat rising off the flames. Keep the lid for the pot close by so you can place a lid on the pot should any of the flames get out of control. If you decide to pour more alcohol on the salt after it has already been lit, the heat in the salt will make the flame bigger and hotter when you light it the second time. Make sure you lean away so the flame does not take out your eyebrows!

After you are finished lighting fires, the energy will be better. You can take advantage of this time and do some actual cleaning, organize your space better, set up an altar with flowers, crystals, totems, or photos of people you love! You can also super-size this work by asking The Angels to seal and protect your space, ask for all the best Angels generically if you are not familiar with particular Angels by name. If you have favourite Angels like Michael, Raphael, Uriel, and Jophiel… go ahead and call them in! I love working with Ariel. Go ahead and try the green fire and see how it shifts the energy in your space.
